ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership (AEDP) used its annual impact meeting on Wednesday to demonstrate that the ALX Forward economic development strategy, adopted by City Council in January, is yielding results in its inaugural year.
Attendees heard stories of three individuals whom AEDP has assisted through the strategy: a developer, a coffee roaster, and a startup founder.
AEDP also announced a $200,000 grant from the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation to expand its technology and innovation initiatives. This funding follows the launch of Accelerate ALX, an accelerator launched under the ALX Forward strategy, which attracted 41 applicants.
