At Least 10 Pleasanton Businesses Hit in String of Break-Ins – NBC Bay Area

By Bob Redell • Published September 10, 2026 • Updated on September 10, 2026 at 11:54 am

NBC Bay Area witnessed three of the break-ins at businesses near Santa Rita Road at about 4:30 a.m. Bob Redell reports.

At least 10 businesses were targeted in a series of smash-and-grab break-ins early Thursday morning in Pleasanton. An NBC Bay Area photographer spotted a group of about four or five people dressed in black smashing the front glass doors of businesses before leaving in a silver vehicle. NBC Bay Area called 911, and three Pleasanton police units arrived within minutes.

Officers attempted to box in the vehicle, but the suspects drove away, leading police on a brief pursuit. The vehicle traveled down Valley Avenue and onto Stanley Boulevard with its lights off. Police eventually called off the pursuit near Isabel Avenue because of concerns for public safety.

Six restaurants at Pacific Pearl shopping center near the Livermore outlets and four businesses near Santa Rita Road appeared to have been targeted, including two restaurants, a nail salon, and Perry’s Liquors. Cash was taken from registers in several of the break-ins. No arrests had been reported as of Thursday morning.
