On Wednesday, San Francisco Men's Soccer earned its much-needed first conference win of the season, defeating Pacific 2-0 at Negoesco Stadium. Not only securing a clean sheet victory, but the Dons also welcomed back their veteran captain and leader, Matthew Duggan.
With the win, the Dons improved to 5-5-4 overall and 1-1-3 in West Coast Conference play.
Head Coach Chris Brown shared his thoughts:
"This feels great. We've had a lot of time to think about this game and prepare for this game. We knew we were getting our captain and our leader back who has meant so much to this team on and off the field the last four years. The guys really rallied around that. We know it's do-or-die time. We have to start getting results. The guys were ready for it. I thought it was as great team performance from our forward line to our goalkeeper. We controlled the game well and took care of our opportunities. I thought it was a professional performance from us."
The Dons opened the scoring first in the first half, securing the victory with a second goal in the second half.
