Drip Daddy is Back in Business
Drip Daddy, the popular coffee truck often spotted on Hoover Street near USC Village, made a swift return after a September crash temporarily halted its operations.
A Quick Recovery
On September 24th, a black Kia veered into the opposite lane, narrowly missing oncoming traffic, and collided with a parked Toyota Camry, pushing it into the front of Drip Daddy. The incident severed the truck's transmission line, causing fluid leaks and eventual breakdowns on its way to the mechanic. Despite these setbacks, the business was back in action just a week later, with a temporary canopy, and fully restored to its usual spot by October 2nd.
A Local Favorite
Founded three years ago by Alex Amari, Drip Daddy has become a student favorite, known for its house-made syrups, sauces, cold foams, and purees. Prices range from $4.50 to $9.00.
"It’s great. It’s good to have a matcha around here that I like." - Harper Hunt, freshman fine arts major
Community Support
The community rallied around Drip Daddy after the crash, with several USC students showing their support. Amari expresses his gratitude for the outpouring of support, emphasizing the strength of the local community.
New Customers and Continued Success
Some students, like Nyjh Nicolas, a sophomore business major, visited Drip Daddy for the first time after the crash due to their sympathy for the situation. This newfound patronage has contributed to the truck's continued success.
