Elon Musk says he'll give every child in America a share in SpaceX - Business Insider

Elon Musk Promises to Give Every American Child a SpaceX Share

Elon Musk announced on X that he plans to give a SpaceX share to every child in America starting next year, writing, "Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many."

SpaceX, founded by Musk in 2002, is a highly valued private company with ventures in satellite internet service, launch, and spacecraft programs. If every American child received a share, it would be worth approximately $10.5 billion, based on the current share price.

Musk's pledge echoes the "Trump Accounts" initiative launched by the Trump administration, which provides investment accounts with a $1,000 federal seed deposit for children born between 2025 and 2028. SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and her husband had previously committed SpaceX shares for over 2 million children, while Musk had not publicly stated his intentions.

The method of distribution and eligibility criteria for Musk's proposed giveaway remain unclear.
