Entergy and Google Announce Second Phase Partnership
Entergy Arkansas announced Monday (Oct. 19) the continuation of its partnership with Google, which includes a $4 billion data center project in West Memphis. As part of this second phase, Entergy will invest in new infrastructure to strengthen the power grid for all its customers without any additional cost.
The project is expected to bring at least $500 million in new customer savings starting in 2028 and will span over 20 years. This investment, in addition to the $1.6 billion previously pledged from the first phase, underscores Entergy's commitment to supporting Google's West Memphis investment.
Key Points:
- Google will pay the full cost of the resources required for the additional services provided by Entergy Arkansas.
- Customers will receive the capacity and energy from these resources without incurring any cost.
- There will be no bill increase associated with the project.
- Google's contribution will lower the fixed costs of existing and future system resources.
Under the revised agreement, Google continues to cover 100% of its power needs and also contributes to the fixed costs shared by all Entergy Arkansas customers.
