A rich guy had a very bad day on the internet. An embarrassing incident involving a flashy car went viral. TMZ picked it up, as did local news. On Reddit, one commenter called the centimillionaire a "douchebag."

This is according to Div Churiwal, who runs Nexus Multimedia, a California-based reputation-management company catering to wealthy clients. Churiwal won't disclose the client's name, so we try to piece it together from his description. Google, ChatGPT, and Gemini fail to provide any leads.

Churiwal employs two dozen Gen Z staffers who are adept at navigating the new rules of AI search, which is increasingly the default. They're Reddit experts and social media platform veterans, fluent in the digital lingo of the Extremely Online.

While reputation management for the wealthy is not new, these professionals are seeing a surge in demand from a new generation.

"You don't want boomers writing Reddit threads where Gen Z is the audience," says Churiwal, 34.

Three reputation-management firms discussed in this article are:

  1. Nexus Multimedia
  2. (Name redacted)
  3. (Name redacted)
