Huntsville Business Seeks Public's Help After Theft of Vendor Merchandise

A Huntsville business is asking for the public’s help after a suspected theft of more than a thousand dollars worth of merchandise.

University Pickers in Huntsville says a woman seen on video is part of a group that appeared to work together to steal the items. The business posted video of the incident, including what it says shows the woman getting into a display case.

The business states the merchandise belonged to a senior vendor who makes and sells her own items.

"In 13 years, we’ve never had something of this degree stolen from us," says co-owner Tricia Gleason. "She was very good at what she did. So, I don't think this was her first time. She stole from several different people that night, that afternoon. And the most, the vendor that she took the most from was our vendor, Miss Mary Ellen. She had just brought in this beautiful jewelry line. And so, she stole about $800 to $1,000 worth of merchandise. I really think this is just an alert to all small businesses. No matter where you are, try to get those cameras up."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Huntsville Police.
