The Jacksonville Jaguars face a challenging week ahead with back-to-back games in London. With the first game against the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, coach Doug Coen emphasizes the importance of mental toughness and professionalism to prepare for an international trip.
"We have to have mental toughness to prepare ourselves throughout this week, and also have a professionalism to us that understands that this is a business trip," said Coen.
The Jaguars and Eagles are both familiar with London, having played there before. The Jaguars aim to build on their recent success, winning two consecutive games and leading the AFC South.
"Obviously, it's kind of a little different out there, and like the stuff that we can do," said cornerback Jarrian Jones. "Just try to find your routine and stick with it."
The team is focusing on staying in their routines and preparing for the unique environment of London games. They will face another AFC South rival, the Houston Texans, at Wembley Stadium on October 18th, marking the third time in five seasons they've played back-to-back London games.
"It's a good time to chop it up, hang out, watch some film together," said defensive end Josh Hines-Allen. "We do a good job with that."
Quarterback Trevor Lawrence described London games as a "cool experience," despite the travel challenges.
"The time you get with your teammates, you're all hanging out, don't really have much else to do," said Lawrence. "It's good for the team."
