For some Seton Hall students, artistic hobbies have blossomed into more than just a pastime; they've transformed into small businesses.
Isabella Link and Geovanna Pecoraro: From Hobbies to Businesses
Two such students are Isabella Link, a sophomore biology major running Henna by Bella, and Geovanna Pecoraro, a freshman nursing major behind Geo does Nails.
Link crafts traditional and non-traditional henna designs, saying, "Whatever people show me, I do." Her business started with friends and family, grew through social media, and now attracts clients from all over.
Pecoraro, on the other hand, has been creating nail art since childhood. After her mother encouraged her and her sisters to give manicures, she honed her skills through online tutorials. She launched Geo does Nails two years ago and gained a significant following on Instagram, with eight out of ten clients finding her through the platform.
Both women emphasize the joy of connecting with their clients while creating art. Link enjoys getting to know her clients and the stories behind their chosen henna designs, while Pecoraro values the conversations she has with her clients during their manicures.
Despite the time commitment involved in running their businesses, Link and Pecoraro find it rewarding. They juggle clients, classes, and college life, cultivating valuable life skills along the way.
