Missouri Proposes New Regulations for Cannabis Industry
The Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) has recently filed proposed rule amendments for cannabis facilities in Missouri. These changes aim to clarify ownership requirements, recall procedures, and other key aspects of the industry.
Key Proposed Amendments:
- Ownership Requirements: The proposal seeks to clarify rules regarding medical and comprehensive cannabis facility ownership.
- Changes in Ownership: It removes the need for preapproval when a licensee's ownership structure changes by 50%.
- Publicly Traded Companies: Establishes guidelines for approval of publicly traded companies' ownership in cannabis licenses.
- Microbusiness Transfers: Allows eligible family members to transfer microbusiness licenses.
- Recall Procedures: Outlines clearer procedures for recalling cannabis products that cannot be traced back to licensed Missouri facilities.
- Prior Violations: Addresses how prior rule violations may impact individuals' participation in the cannabis industry.
These amendments will be published in the November issue of the Missouri Register and will accept public comments from November 2 to December 2. The final version is expected to be filed next year.
