Gaspard named accessibility services director
Christina Gaspard is the new director of the Office of Accessibility Services at McNeese State University. The office provides academic support and accommodations for students with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Gaspard earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from McNeese and is a Nationally Certified Educational Diagnostician. She emphasizes the office’s commitment to removing barriers and empowering students through necessary accommodations and resources. Services offered include monitored testing, interpreters, and note-takers for qualified students.
Bush tapped as STS vice chair
Timothy Bush, Chief Marketing Officer at Visit Lake Charles, has been elected Vice Chair of the Southeast Tourism Society (STS) Executive Committee for 2025-2026. STS is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing travel and tourism professionals across the southeastern United States. Bush, who has been involved with STS for over a decade, served as Secretary of the executive committee last year and was reappointed to the board in 2022. He chairs the STS Recognition Committee, focusing on quality recognition programs, and moderates the Shining Innovation session at the Connections conference.
Savoy named to state board
Kelly Rush Savoy, President and CEO of Rush Funeral Homes and Crematory in Oakdale, has been appointed by Governor Jeff Landry to serve on the Louisiana State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. The board oversees licensing requirements for funeral industry professionals and offers internship guidelines.
