SELMA – What began as a pandemic-era side hustle has blossomed into a local sensation, and Selma residents now have easy access to their favorite Knotty Chix pretzel flavors.

The business, known for its unique and creative pretzel flavors, has established itself just across from Lincoln Park at 1920 High Street. While the grand opening celebration is scheduled for November 12th, the store is already welcoming customers.

Owner Viviana Sisneros shares her journey:

"It’s a little surreal at times, but I always knew this was something I wanted to do," Sisneros expressed. "I love to cook, and seeing the joy on people’s faces when they enjoy my pretzels makes it all worthwhile."

Sisneros' love for soft pretzels ignited during the COVID-19 pandemic when local malls were temporarily closed or operating with restrictions. She learned to make pretzels and experimented with various flavors, eventually introducing Hot Cheeto pretzels, which became a popular item.

After gaining traction on social media, Sisneros began vending at community events like the Kingsburg Swedish Festival and the Market on Kern in Fresno as early as 2021. She always had her eye on the 1920 High Street location, and has finally made it a reality.

The new store holds special significance as it's located across from Lincoln Park, the site of her very first event sale.

Unique Flavors and Endless Creations:

Sisneros' creativity shines through with unique flavors like Fruity Pebbles, s’mores, cake batter, and her personal favorite, Knotty Pickle. She continues to innovate, recently experimenting with a pretzel inspired by capirotada, a traditional Mexican treat.

"I feel like in the pretzel industry, flavors are endless," Sisneros said. "It’s about finding the right balance and catering to different palates."

While the new store is a primary focus, Sisneros assures customers that Knotty Chix will still be present at events and games when possible.
