Legal Greens Dispensary in Codman Square officially opened its doors last week, replacing a previous dispensary after navigating regulatory hurdles. This expansion comes nearly two years after LowKey Dispensary left the location.
Mark Bouquet and Vanessa Jean-Baptiste, owners of Legal Greens in Brockton for over five years, took over the Codman Square space 17 months ago. They now hold retail and delivery licenses for both locations.
"We always had it in mind to have multiple locations in the state... so to now have one in Brockton and a second in Boston is really great for us," said Bouquet, who is actively involved in the Codman Square community.
Legal Greens also has a cultivation facility in Brockton, aiming for vertical integration. Bouquet noted, "Expansion isn't what we were looking to do immediately, but that's how it happened."
With 15 local residents hired, the store opened on October 7th. Bouquet expressed optimism about the district's future and plans to contribute to the new merchants' group.
