European cities dominate the rankings in terms of quality of life, according to a recent report by Oxford Economics. The report analyzed 1,000 cities worldwide across five categories: economics, human capital, environment, and quality of life. While US cities excel in economic indicators, they lag in quality of life, with only one making the top 20.

Here are the cities that excelled in the quality of life category, with scores ranging from 86.3 to 87.7:

- Prague (Overall Score: 78.1, Quality of Life Score: 86.9)

- Munich (Overall Score: 85, Quality of Life Score: 87.3)
- Berlin (Overall Score: 84.6, Quality of Life Score: 87.7)
- Zurich (Overall Score: 89.1, Quality of Life Score: 87.7)
- San Jose, United States (Overall Score: N/A, Quality of Life Score: 87.0)
Report Insights
"The Global Cities Index records the progress cities are making across a comprehensive range of metrics," said Mark Britton, managing director of city services at Oxford Economics. "It shows not just where cities stand today, but also where they are heading."
The index highlights the importance of quality of life indicators, such as income equality and housing expenditure, in addition to economic factors, providing a well-rounded view of urban development.
