Pekin restaurant celebrates 35 years in business

TAZEWELL COUNTY (25News Now) - Mike’s Cobbler Corner Family Restaurant in Pekin is celebrating 35 years in business.
Liridon Rrushaj is the third member of his family to own the restaurant. His father opened it, then gave it to his brother. It is now owned by Rrushaj. Everything at the restaurant is served fresh, with Rrushaj’s mother making every dessert in-house.
“It’s a neat feeling when you worked here in high school and waited on kids who are now adults with their own kids that come in and to see that kind of generation of customers walk through the door is a pretty neat feeling,” Rrushaj said.
Rrushaj is looking ahead to the restaurant’s next 35 years.
Mike’s Cobbler Corner Family Restaurant is located at 1534 North 8th Street in Pekin.
