Pui-Wing Tam Is Our Next Business Editor
Read more from executive editor Joe Kahn and managing editors Carolyn Ryan and Marc Lacey.
There’s no shortage of consequential business stories today. From artificial intelligence reshaping the way we work and live, to the shifting American economy and its global impact, to the fracturing media ecosystem, the Business desk covers it all.
We produce robust daily coverage that’s essential for power brokers, Wall Street and Washington, and anyone seeking to understand technology, business, and global economic forces.
We are thrilled to announce Pui-Wing Tam as our next Business editor. She is a magnet for talent, known for guiding major enterprise stories, delivering world-beating scoops, and building a strong culture. She will lead the Business desk’s next chapter, ensuring its journalism sings in a variety of formats.
Pui-Wing joined The Times in 2015 as technology editor and was promoted to deputy business editor in 2018. Over the past decade, she has been a guiding force behind significant tech and business stories, including coverage of Meta, cryptocurrency, Elon Musk, and AI. Under her leadership, her reporters have won prestigious awards, including George Polk, Gerald Loeb, and Pulitzer Prizes.
Before The Times, Pui-Wing led U.S. tech coverage at Bloomberg and was a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal.
