Scouting America Council to Honor Hunt Family

The Natural State Council of Scouting America announced Tuesday (Sept. 29) that it will recognize the Hunt family at its 2026 Northwest Arkansas Heart of the Eagle luncheon. The event, starting at noon on Oct. 13 at Rogers Convention Center, celebrates individuals and families who have significantly impacted their communities through leadership and service.

The Hunt family, with roots in Lowell, has left an indelible mark on Arkansas over several decades. J.B. and Johnelle Hunt built J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. from a modest Arkansas startup into a leading transportation and logistics company in North America. Their philanthropy spans various sectors, including healthcare, education, children's services, economic development, and community initiatives across the state.

"What sets apart the Hunt family is their commitment to values that have been passed down through generations," shared Tom Allen, chairman of the event committee and president of Cushman & Wakefield / Sage Partners in Rogers. "J.B. and Johnelle set a high bar, and their family has consistently met it."

Accepting the honor on behalf of the Hunt family will be Johnnie “Bryan”, whose role celebrates the enduring legacy of the family's dedication to community and Scouting values.
