St. Louis Restaurant Hopes Cooler Weather Can Save Business

St. Louis, MO (KPLR 11) – The cooler weather is providing some hope for Marquita Mahon, owner of STL Steak and Cake in the Tower Grove South neighborhood of St. Louis. The business recently announced that if sales do not pick up, its doors will close for good.
“When the heat waves came, it seemed like they were back-to-back and it really stopped business,” Mahon said. “I mean a good 80 percent of the business just stopped.”
She attributed the drop to increased operational costs during the summer months.
