Suspicious Package Reported at Omaha Machine Business

Authorities responded to a report of a suspicious package at a business in Omaha on Thursday afternoon, October 22, 2026. Around 2:30 p.m., Omaha Police and Fire, along with U.S. Homeland Security Federal Protective Service, were called to the scene at Grede Casting Integrity on Martha Street, east of Highway 75.

The package, initially deemed suspicious, was later cleared by a hazmat team. The FBI and U.S. Postal Service are handling the matter.

This incident follows similar reports of suspicious powder at Sen. Deb Fischer's West Omaha office and Sen. Pete Ricketts' office in West Omaha over the past week. Both instances resulted in the powder being determined as non-hazardous.

Nationally, federal authorities have been investigating letters with suspicious substances mailed to lawmakers and election offices, with some letters still en route.
