The Golden State star had a busy summer off the court, signing a sneaker brand deal, dining with Warren Buffett, playing in charity golf tournaments, traveling to China, and agreeing to a contract extension with the Warriors.
He capped this productive period by signing a two-year, $116 million contract extension on Friday, choosing to take less money annually to give his team flexibility.
“Without knowing the answers to the test, it was my best way to study for it,” Curry said of the decision.
This summer also included appearances on "Good Morning America" and at the ESPYs within a 24-hour span, charity golf events, a trip to China, an upcoming movie premiere, and training for his 18th NBA season.
Curry's off-court ventures have been equally impressive: a reported $400 million deal with Chinese brand Li-Ning, a Netflix film debut, and the expansion of his Eat.Learn.Play foundation, which has raised over $30 million and built 25 school playgrounds in the Bay Area.
His latest contract pushes his career earnings past $600 million. Curry ended his summer obligations at Madison Park Primary in Oakland, launching a keratoconus awareness campaign and a picture book about living with the condition.
"Everything I’ve done this summer has been incredible," Curry said last week. "Whether it’s some of the business stuff that I’m invested in, committed to, being able to show up in person and support in all different facets—it’s kind of a crazy schedule, but it’s all things that I enjoy."
