Filmmakers Create AI Sci-Fi Series 'The Arc' with $38k in Credits

Creators of an AI-generated sci-fi series, "The Arc," revealed it took approximately $38,000 in AI credits and 8 to 10 generations per shot to bring their vision to life. The five-episode series, spanning about 83 minutes, was directed by Darin Stewart and executive produced by Simone Ferretti, an AI content creator.
"The Arc" is a futuristic narrative set in a near-future America, following an incarcerated veteran's quest to navigate deadly historical simulations to obtain a cure for his dying son. The series was made with Artlist, an AI platform for video content creators, who supplied the AI credits and approved the project.
A Revolutionary Process
What sets "The Arc" apart is its complete absence of human actors, sets, props, or costumes. The series seamlessly blends multiple time periods and settings, typically requiring substantial budgets, into a cohesive narrative.
Stewart and his team, all from traditional entertainment backgrounds, completed the first episode in just three and a half weeks. They attributed this rapid turnaround to AI, enabling them to produce scenes in 1600s Japan and 1800s Montana without the usual financial constraints.
AI-Powered Creativity
The team maintained complete creative control, with human ideation guiding every aspect of the series. For each episode, they would conduct a 10-minute verbal brainstorming session, outlining the plot, characters, and settings.
Artlist's AI platform provided the tools to bring their ideas to life, resulting in a captivating sci-fi series accessible to all. "The Arc" is available for free on Artlist's website, showcasing the potential of AI in revolutionizing the entertainment industry.
