VISALIA, Calif. (FOX26) — A car crashed into Mz Glow's Kitchen in Visalia on Friday, damaging the restaurant and leaving its owner unsure when she can reopen.
Owner Gloria Rodriguez said the crash happened just minutes before staff were scheduled to close. She said the driver swerved to avoid another car and hit the building's side. No one was injured.
"It was devastating," Rodriguez said. "It was very devastating knowing how hard I worked to build this with my family."
Rodriguez said her daughter had just left the restaurant before the crash.
Mz. Glow's Kitchen served Mexican favorites, including dishes inspired by Hot Cheetos. Rodriguez said she does not yet know how much it will cost to repair the damage. She said rebuilding might mean starting over somewhere else, but she hopes to keep the business going.
"To be honest with you, I would love to rebuild. But I'm sure it's not going to be here," Rodriguez said. "I have to start back small because I don't give up. I never give up."
The family has started a [GoFundMe](link to GoFundMe page) to help cover the damage.
