WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (KAIT) - The Farm Service Tire Center in Walnut Ridge is launching its inaugural coat drive, running through December 21.
A red bin is available for donations within the store. Matt Wood, manager of the Farm Service Tire Center, explains the process: “Just drop off a coat or ask for a size.”
Donations extend beyond the bin. Some residents have contributed money for shopping, and the tire center can accompany individuals to Walmart to ensure they find the right fit, no cost involved.
“We’ll go down, walk through Walmart with them, get them fixed up, and they won’t have to be out a dime,” Wood said. “And don’t feel bad... we’re just here to help and contribute back to the community.”
Wood initiated the coat drive due to a perceived need, aiming to inspire other local businesses to follow suit.
“In today’s world, in this economy, we need more people to step up and help out,” Wood said. “We need more people to contribute and help others instead of running each other down.”
