Waymo Closes $5 Billion Debt Financing to Accelerate Business Expansion

Today, Waymo successfully closed a $5 billion term loan, marking our first debt financing and an important milestone in our evolution into a scalable commercial enterprise. PIMCO, Blackstone, and Sixth Street served as lead syndicated lenders, joined by Capital Group, Loomis Sayles, T. Rowe Price as significant lenders. Other contributors included Apollo, Blue Owl, Diameter Capital Partners, Franklin Templeton, Fidelity Management & Research Company, HPS Investment Partners, and Oaktree. Goldman Sachs acted as the sole lead bookrunner.
Earlier this year, we secured a $16 billion equity investment to accelerate the expansion of the Waymo Driver. Last month, we launched service in our fifteenth U.S. city and announced plans for new international cities, as our commercial operations continue to grow at an unprecedented pace. Our strong momentum has enabled us to combine equity financing with this debt offering, enhancing our financial flexibility to solidify our balance sheet and capitalize on upcoming opportunities.
