Family of Wichita Business Owner Relocates to Mexico After Removal Order
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The family of a Wichita business owner is relocating to Mexico after receiving an order of removal.
Last month, 12 News reported on Yesica Peña, owner of Lady Burritos, being held at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Chase County, Kansas.
A post on the restaurant's Facebook page states: "We are making sure the family lands safely and helping them on their fresh start. We will have more updates later." Those assisting the family have also expressed gratitude for the public's support through prayers, calls, texts, and donations.
Another Wichita business owner, Rabih "Rob" Attar, the owner of La Galette bakery, was also detained in October. A fundraiser has been set up to support him. La Galette remains open but has adjusted its hours to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to maintain quality and service.
