Here's a look at promotions, hirings, and other noteworthy business events in the Memphis area:

collaborative planning and design firm expanded its planning practice with the addition of:

  • Jonathan Flynt as director of planning
  • Scott Henninger as senior planner.

They joined the firm together as part of the company's expansion of planning capabilities for public and private-sector clients.

Flynt has 15 years of planning and urban design experience with work spanning downtown and comprehensive master planning, urban infill, transit-oriented development, town centers, and bicycle and pedestrian planning. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma.

Henninger has public- and private-sector experience in planning, urban design, and landscape architecture. His work includes municipal project review, zoning, ordinance administration, public commission presentations, and coordination among public agencies. He has experience in town center planning, redevelopment, design guidelines, streetscapes, transportation, growth management, public engagement, and implementation. Henninger is a Tennessee registered landscape architect and AICP-certified planner and holds CLARB and National Charrette Institute certifications. He earned a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from West Virginia University.

IMC Logistics

Joel Tracy, Chief Information Officer, was named the 2026 National Large Corporate ORBIE Award winner. He received this recognition as CIO of the Year among technology executives from major companies across the country during the National ORBIE Awards on August 6 in San Jose, Calif.

Rhodes College

Rhodes College was awarded a three-year Institutional Impact Grant of $600,000 by the Educating Character Initiative, a project of The Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University. Funded by Lilly Endowment Inc., the college will use this grant to:

  • Integrate character education into its liberal arts curriculum and student experience.
  • Support a re-alignment of Rhodes’ motto — Truth, Loyalty, Service.

Lewis Thomason

Al Harvey, of Counsel in Lewis Thomason's Memphis office, received the Senior Lawyers Division’s Robert W. Meserve Award presented by the American Bar Association.
