According to the post, Melissa Anderson, a Workforce Ready teacher at Statesboro High, has been an active member of the association for 10 years. The organization’s membership chose her to lead the state association, and she will serve as president-elect during the 2026-2027 school year in preparation for the leadership role.
Bulloch Schools stated that Anderson has previously served as the association’s public relations officer and has been a frequent presenter at its conferences and events.
Background and Experience
Anderson has 21 years of teaching experience, all at Statesboro High School. The post mentions she holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Georgia Southern University and a master’s degree in Adult and Career Education from Valdosta State University.
For 18 years, Anderson taught Business & Finance courses in Statesboro High’s Financial Services career pathway. She has brought many of these concepts and real-world applications to her current classroom role teaching Workforce Ready skills.

She likes sharing ideas, connecting with other educators, and using her experiences to help others find new ways to engage and prepare their students for success.
The district also noted that Anderson serves as the faculty advisor for Statesboro’s student chapter of the National Technical Honor Society.
