The Pizza Dip: A New Restaurant in Downtown Salisbury
By Janet Briggs
SALISBURY — Another place to grab a slice is open in downtown Salisbury, and it’s out of this world. The Pizza Dip at 121 East Innes Street opened its doors for its soft opening on October 15, 2026, welcoming customers to their new restaurant endeavors.
Richard Smith, with a career in business operations including food franchises, and his wife Cory, who has a creative background, decided to open their first pizza restaurant together. With a young family, they found the perfect location in Salisbury and embarked on their culinary journey.
The Pizza Dip menu boasts a variety of pizzas, including classics and unique creations like the Pickle Pluto (alfredo base with pickles, dill, and ranch) and the loaded baked potato pizza. Cory, the creative director, has designed many of the pizza and dip flavors, taking inspiration from her pregnancy cravings and customer favorites.
Beyond Pizza: Dips, Wings, and More
The restaurant's namesake, the dip bar, offers over 20 different dips, from traditional pizza pairings to experimental flavors. The caramelized balsamic onion jam has been a standout. The Smiths encourage customers to share their dip ideas for future additions.
In addition to pizza, the menu includes wings, breadsticks, and desserts. Lunch specials pair pizzas, salads, breadsticks, and wings for a great value.
Richard boasts, "I won’t say we have the best wings in the world, but wing to wing, we have wings I would put up against a lot of places."
A Space-Themed Family-Friendly Environment
The Smiths embraced a space theme for the restaurant, adorning the walls with science fiction movie posters. They aim to create a family-friendly atmosphere while paying homage to the establishment's previous tenant, Sergeant Pepper’s.
The Pizza Dip is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and until 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. They offer dine-in, carry-out, and grab-and-go options, and can be found on various delivery apps.
