Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr: A Love Story and Tragic End
Rachael Reed spent decades visiting the island of Roatán, first traveling there as a teenager in the mid-2000s. In 2023, she and her partner, Charmi Fehr, put down roots and became owners of a boutique hotel there.
Their love story, however, was cut short on Sunday when they were involved in a private plane crash near Greenacres and Palm Beach, Florida, along with seven others, including entrepreneur Adam Robinson and his family.
Memories and Tributes
Across social media, friends and relatives mourned the couple. They shared memories of Fehr from his childhood in Paraguay and Reed from her high school years in Oklahoma. Whitney Pyle, a former ICU nurse who worked with Reed, remembered her kindness towards patients and their families.
From Nurse to Brow Artist
Reed graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a nursing degree and was a Red Cross representative during her studies. She worked in nursing in Oklahoma and San Diego before venturing into aesthetics, owning BrowBabe, a microblading studio in Oklahoma City.
Jason Suttles, who worked with Reed in the mid-2010s, described her as the "perfect teammate," attentive and open to feedback. Reed's career spanned diverse industries, including real estate, critical care nursing, and aesthetics.
A Traveler's Love Story
Reed was an adventurous spirit, enjoying hiking and scuba diving. Her love for travel was linked to her real estate business, as she noted, "Buying a house like this is literally what opened up my world of traveling."
In 2019, while traveling solo in Peru, Reed met Fehr, who was also visiting from Paraguay. Their love blossomed, and they later became engaged.
Reed had a deep connection with Roatán, an island off the northern coast of Honduras, where her mother did nonprofit work and built a school. She visited regularly and, in 2019, extended her stay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually settling in with Fehr and making friends with their neighbors.
After months of enjoying the island life, the couple's dreams were cut short by the tragic plane crash.
